Dr. Sarah M. Howell is a board-certified dermatologist who provides comprehensive medical and surgical dermatologic care to patients of all ages. Her dermatologic experience spans more than two decades and includes special expertise in skin cancer detection and treatment, eczema, and psoriasis. Her formal education and training include:
- Boston College (Chestnut Hill, MA) – BS, Biology (magna cum laude)
- Georgetown University School of Medicine (Washington, DC) – Doctor of Medicine
- Tripler Army Medical Center (Honolulu, HI) – Transitional Internship
- Walter Reed Army Medical Center (Washington, DC) – Dermatology Residency
Dr. Howell served 12 years in the United States Army, including 8 years on active duty, and held the role of Chief of Dermatology at Ireland Army Community Hospital in Fort Knox, Kentucky. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Howell serves as a Principal Investigator for the CoEvitas Psoriasis and Eczema Registries. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology (ABD), a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD), and is an active member of the Hawaii Dermatological Society (HDS), where she previously served as President. She has also been recognized as a “Top Doctor” by Honolulu Magazine every year since 2015.
She has called Hawaii her home since 2012. In her spare time, Dr. Howell enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children, dogs, and bunnies. She loves oil and acrylic painting, reading, traveling, yoga, and weightlifting.
